        Opinion on Compliance

When selling or mortgaging your house, you will be asked by the purchaser to provide a Certificate of Compliance to ensure the property and any structural alterations or extensions comply with Planning and Building Regulations. If you have not employed an architect, engineer or surveyor and you do not have a Certificate of Compliance, then you will have to provide an Opinion on Compliance.

An Opinion on Compliance is similar, but it does not offer you the same assurances that a Certificate of Compliance does. The opinion is carried out after the completion of the project and is based on a visual inspection of the finished works.

When we prepare Opinions of Compliance, our service includes an investigation into the planning files for the property together with a site visit prior to preparing the opinion.

All our Opinions of Compliance are presented in a format that has been approved by the Law Society of Ireland.
