Planning Permission and Retention Permission
Planning permission is how you ask your local authority to agree to your proposed building work.
Retention permission is how you ask to retain unauthorized buildings or structures already constructed.
Both planning permission and retention permission can be approved or refused by the local authority.
If you are going to build a house, you will need planning permission. If you are going to build an extension or make other changes to your existing house, you may need planning permission. Some small extensions and conservatories do not need planning permission but it is important to check this before you start building.
EWA can advise you on all planning matters and will ensure your application for planning permission or retention permission is made in the quickest timeframe possible.
